    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forums.webwiz.net/member_profile.asp?PF=1">WebWiz-Bruce</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 9520<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 04&nbsp;February&nbsp;2004 at 3:59am<br /><br />Follow the instructions that you have just posted, it can't be explained any clearer.<br><br>You need to edit the lines in bothe common.asp files:-<br><br><ol><li>strDbPathAndName = Server.MapPath("<font color="#0000cc">admin/database/</font><font color="#ff0000">wwForum.mdb</font>")<br><br></li><li>Change the part marked in blue (<font color="#0000cc">admin/database/</font>),to the new path to the database relative to the common.asp file you areediting, if you are editing the common.asp file from the admin sectionyou will have,<font color="#0000cc">database/</font> written in frontof the database name, don't worry, just change this to the path to thedatabase relative to the common.asp file.<br></li><li>Change the part marked in red (<font color="#ff0000">wwForum.mdb</font>), to the new name of the Forum's Access database. </li></ol>For example if the forum is one level below the root of your site you would have sometjing like:-<br><br>strDbPathAndName = Server.MapPath("<font color="#0000cc">../database/</font><font color="#ff0000">wwForum.mdb</font>")<br><br>The ../ means move up a directory<br>]]>

One common.asp file is with the main files and the other should be in a directory called admin. <BR><BR><LI>In these two files you will find the following line of code: -<BR><BR>strDbPathAndName = Server.MapPath("<FONT color=#0000cc>admin/database/</FONT><FONT color=#ff0000>wwForum.mdb</FONT>")<BR><BR><LI>Change the part marked in blue (<FONT color=#0000cc>admin/database/</FONT>), to the new path to the database relative to the common.asp file you are editing, if you are editing the common.asp file from the admin section you will have,<FONT color=#0000cc>database/</FONT> written in front of the database name, don't worry, just change this to the path to the database relative to the common.asp file.<BR><LI>Change the part marked in red (<FONT color=#ff0000>wwForum.mdb</FONT>), to the new name of the Forum's Access database. <BR></LI></OL><P>i renamed the file (wwforum.mdb)&nbsp;and copied it to the route what do i need to do then?</P><P>cos now the forums are blank, and how do i revert it back to its last state? cos its completely cocked up! help!!</P>]]>
