It hasn't been listed in either inc or fortune for 4 or 5 years.  At the time it was listed it was because they were the registrar for the western samoa tld at a time when .com and .net names were running out and ICANN had a hold on new tld's. They weren't listed because of their marketing scheme. IIRC, pets.com was listed higher as were other companies that subsequently fizzled. About half of the "best new companies" on fortune and inc fail within the first 2 years and about 75% of the rest are gone within 5 years. GDI's been around a little longer but sales last year were 9 million and change - hardly a world beater.

Once ICANN lifted the hold and created a whole bunch of new tld's, gdi came up with a pyramid scheme to sit at home on your ass and get rich quick, by selling overpriced and under featured web sites that all looked distressingly the same.

You can get better hosting, cheaper, and run your own pyramid scheme.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

and on a side note.. if these so called top 500 listing mags were to contain any serious info.. then there are load buch of business who operate in profits of billions silently and they dont have any affilate or advertising by spam programs. half the world doesnt know about them, and dont need to know them.. for they are real business making serious money..
