Hi,
 
I have the WebWizForums v9 Free and whenever i'm trying to register a user I get the error below, please help me fix this.
 
Error
Only members with sufficient permission can access this page.

A security error has occurred with authentication.

Please ensure that all cookies are enabled on your web browser, you are not using a saved or cached copy of the page, and your Firewall/Proxy settings are not hiding or masking your IP address.
 
What do I have to do to fix this issue?

It sounds like there is an issue with ASP sessions on the server you are using or an issue with cookies being set correctly. Make sure that the server you are using can correctly set ASP sessions.

You should check that Web Wiz Forums is running in an application pool which has a single worker processes, otherwise ASP sessions will be dropped.

You should also look in the address bar, if you have a long SID number in the address bar throughout the forum then cookies are not being set and you may need to edit in notepad the file includes/setup_options_inc.asp and change the way cookies are set.

Hello I am having the same issue, My server has no problems or issues with sessions or cookies, I also tried uncommenting the line in includes/setup_options_inc.asp as the scripts suggests, any other suggestions that may help with this issue?

This question has been covered many, many times, before, if you do a serach you should find your answer, but it's pretty much what the last posts says.

Ty Bruce I figured it out. I know the question has been asked many times an dwas reluctant to ask again. lol I searched the forum and couldn't find the actual fix. the line that needed to be uncommented also needed to have the directory the forum is in set to it.  Anyway, great script, after I get all set up I plan to buy the full version. Ty for your response.
