    Posted: 05 December 2006 at 12:21am

I have set up my forum in a test area of my Brinkster account. I have everything working properly except one thing...and it's a strange one.

First let me describe my setup:

"Email Activation of Membership" is turned ON
"Administration Member Activation" is turned OFF
I am using ASPEmail as the Email Component

When I test the registration process and create a test account, I do not get the activation email.

Here is the weird part:  When I try and log in as the registered (but not yet activated) test user and use the "Resend Activation" link, it sends the email without a problem.

Similarly when I have the forum email me a reset password is works without fail as well.

This tells me that the email configuration is working properly, but something else is wrong.  Can anyone explain why the initial email does not work, but other email functions within the system do work?

Steve.

As thats quite a strange behaviour, i would first try reuploading all the files as one may have become corrupt during the original upload that would explain why the problem only occurs during one function
Handyman man?

I tried as you suggested, but I still get the same behaviour.  Any other ideas?

Re-download the WWF zipped file from Web Wiz then upload the forum directory from it and replace the old forum directory with it.
