Active Topics not working

I upgraded to version 9 and also converted from the Access2000 version to the MySql version. There were a few bugs to iron out afterwards, but the conversion went well.
However the Active Topics feature does not work. It says there are no active topics. I'm not getting any error messages and everything else seems to be working fine.
Any suggestions?

There is no obvious reason why it wouldn't work, but dates are handled differently in mySQL to other databases, so I would check that the date fields in the database are set to the datetime datatype.

I changed the syntax in the database from '0000-00-00 00:00:00' to '00-00-0000 00:00:00' and also changed the forum preference from yy to yyyy. Whichever one did it, the active topics work now.
Thanks. My users are whistling zippity-dooda again.

stonecutter, which tool did you use to convert from Access to MySQL.  I'm trying to go from access v.7 to MySql v.9.  I've done the converstion from access 7 to  9 but now I don't know what to do. 
My hosting service provides 1 free mySQL database buy I would have to pay extra for MS SQLServer, which I don't want to do.

Access to mySQL is not recommended as the database schema are very different.

Access to SQL Server is very easy and the upsize tool in Access should take care of the job for you.

If your web hosts charges to much for SQL Server you should have a look at our own Hosting Packages starting from £4.99 per month and including SQL Server, and the Premium Edition of Web Wiz Forums installed for free. Sorry missed out the 'not' part.

It can be done as people have managed to do it, but I also see allot of people who report unstable forums after migrating the database from Access or SQL Server to mySQL.
