I'm wanting to add around 10 additional fields to the existing WWF database table (MySQL).

Could this cause any dramas?

Not if you follow the guidelines given to people creating mods and prefix any new database objects with MOD.

This way they would not conflict with any future updates to the database for new versions of Web Wiz Forums.

Thanks Bruce

I was thinking about a different prefix for the additional fields within tbl_Author, but can use "MOD" instead if it must be that way.

Can you point me to where the guidelines are please as I've already customised a few of the ASP scripts, so didn't think I would be able to do any future upgrades because of the changes I have made.

Note:  I've recently paid for a Single Instance License

I believe the guidelines are here: http://forums.webwiz.net/guide-to-using-modifications-read-first_topic22292.html

I don't think it would matter if the prefix isn't "mod", as I use the prefix of "s2h" for all of mine. I would assume Bruce recommends "MOD" as (1) its obvious for support issues and (2) it has no chance of conflicting with anything in the future.

I think the key point is simply to have a prefix, and that it is unique to avoid conflicts with upgrades (as a fair few of my mods have found their way into releases)
