simple lets say you want a date for your page....
where you want it you put <% response.write date() %>
<% - asp start tag
response.write - write something
%> - asp close tag
IF you want to write hi then you do
<% response.write "hi" %>
you use " because its text
if you want date and time ...
<% response.write "The time is " & date() %>
you need to visit some asp tutorial sites... some i am aware of are
