Gosh.. It's going to be tough to explain this one. Confused

I want to filter out some bad words from my forum. However, when users type in larger words that contain bad words, it will mess up these legimate words. For example:
  • bass turns into b[censored]
  • hello turns into [censored]o
  • assassin turns into [censored][censored]in
  • Uranus turns into Ur[censored]
Is there anyway around this?
