C++ and SQL Server

   Learning C++ at the moment, a pretty nice language I think!

Anyway I'm creating an application that needs to connect to an SQL
server database because the application will be building up an index of
potentially millions of records over long periods of time.

From what I've learnt from chatting to people connecting to a DB isn't
that pretty.  I had a look on google couldn't cut down my search
to anything worthwhile.  If anyone could point me to some
libraries for SQL Server that work in Dev-C++, or some tutorials on how
to work it all please let me know.
