Can/should specific forum moderator names appear?

Hi,
 
I am just testing version 9 (with access although i will be using mySQL version when live) of the forum software and i was wondering the following:
 
A friend registered as a user and i have him the moderator of a specific forum.  Now, is there any way i can get the name(s) of that forums moderator(s) to appear in that forum.  So people know who to contact specificaly on questions within that forum?
 
I hope that makes senseEmbarrassed

I would really like to know the answer to this questions too. We would like the moderators name to appear in each topic as well so our members know who to contact if there is a problem.
 
Can you please advise if this is possible?

The problem with grabbing the list of moderators for a forum is that it requires quite resource hungry extra database hits to get this information, which defeats the goal of getting the forum to run as fast as it can.

However, are looking at alternatives for the next release, such as using drops downs with AJAX. This way performance can still be kept as the list of moderators will only be requested from the database as and when required.

I would be happy to make a mod that uses AJAX and a drop down box to get the moderators, depends when the next release is if its worth my while or not.
 
If you can give me some more information on where you would like it placed etc and I will see what I can do :D

The next release was originally planned for this week, but the new HTTP XML API took a bit longer than expected and grow to over 2,500 lines of code. The list of new features has also grown.

However, the next release should be a matter of weeks away, at the latest it would be in the first week of the new year.
