Cannot Login to Admin Database

I have just downloaded ver 7.9 of the forum & uploaded it to my website. see www.roughplanet.com/forum/

But I can't log in to do the administration of the database using

userid - administrator

password - letmein

as instructed.

Any ideas - is the password encrypted coz when I look inside the access database I have lots of gobblydegook..??

Hope someone can help - I really want to get this up and running.

Passwords are encrypted.

Make sure the database is not corrupted by reuploading the database again. Also ensure that you have not changed anything in the database directly.

Also check that the folder you have the database in has write permissions enabled.

have tried that.

After typing in the username and password I am getting a http 500 error that the page cannot be displayed.

Steve, in the forum instruction, the 500 error is explained and if you follow it you would see the exact error you are getting, obvious one

I have followed the instructions and now get that error message. How exactly do I make my database/object not read only? Sorry if this is really simple to resolve.
