Hi,

I recently locked my forum before upgrading from 7.96 to 7.97. After uploading the new/changed files, I tried to unlock my forum and it took me to a Forum Closed page. I tried pointing to the admin folder on my site which brought me to a login page, but after entering my credentials, I still was brought to a Forum CLosed page (and I entered my credentials correctly, trying multiple times). I even went into the database and unchecked the Forums_Closed checkbox in tblCOnfiguration, but that didn't seem to help.

Please help! I'm using this forum for some college courses I teach and can't have it down too long.

Sounds like the server may have some issues holding the ASP session if you can not log directly into the admin area.

Maybe worth contacting your hosting company about.

Changing it directly in the database will work, but as the forum uses application variables you need to wait for these to be updated.

I had the same issue.  Not only did I upgrade from an earlier version, I moved from Access to SQL.  I was unable to log-in.  I used the enterprise manager to edit the forum lock field to get back in.

I had this once (was my fault)

As Borg has suggested - I went into the Database and unticked the FORUM LOCKED box in there, then uploaded it again.
