Topic: Converting Mac images to PC format Posted: 19 May 2003 at 7:29am |
|
Somenone has sent me some company graphics on a Mac cd.
I have zero experience with the Mac format, but it's real important for me to see whats on the disc..
Can anyone tell me how I would go about viewing the contents of a Mac-cd on a PC.. and of course subsequently how I convert it to a usable format?

a MAC CD will not run on a PC bcuz the CD file system for MAC is iffernet than one for PC.. however if the cd is burned in ISO format.. then it would probably work..i guess there are some emulation utilities available around to let PC read MAC cd roms.. anyway u can use quicktime to open mac format images but to run a mac format CD.. u better search on the net..
check these links as well

Probably not the solution you're looking for but, how about this....
Get hold of a Mac and email all of the images t yourself. Then, on your PC, open up the email and hey presto, you've got your images !!!

well thats still messy.. its is logically thinkable that if he had access to a MAC with internet access.. he would probably do that without asking us here.. forget abt the email.. he can easily send them by MSN messenger.. if the file sizes aint too HUGE!!!.. heheheheheh

I've looked at the software links u provided boss, and it seems that Macopener is exactly what i need. Too bad I can't afford to pay £100 to open 2 files . And as far as I can tell they don't offer trial versions.
I don't have acces to a mac - but it gave me an idea to try to contact some friends of mine who work in advertizing. Think they might have a mac there. Worth a shot.
Anyways thx for helping out - and if you come across something useful I hope you will post it.

yeah I guess where u are that could be the case. But the Danish importers of the product wants 1300 DKK which equals £ 100 - and since I don't have an international credit card I would have to buy it through them. And anyways even if it was 'only' $ 49 USD, I'd still think it was a lot to pay to view a couple of images. Guess I have to figure out just how important those files are to me...
