I've just installed the beta (very smoothly) and am now playing with configuration options.

When upgrading from v9 to v10 how can I prevent members having to login (many will have forgotten their passwords).

...in other words how can I make their v9 cookies work seamlessly with v10 (what cookie prefix etc.)

Version 9 had the cookie prefix in a setup file and so can not be copied across to version 10 which uses the database for the cookie prefix.

So that version 10 has the same cookie prefix as version 9 go to the 'Web Wiz Forums General Settings' page in the admin area and change the cookie prefix from wwf10 to WWF9

Thanks Bruce...I understand there is only one thing to do then...

...if the cookie prefix for the new version remains as WWF9 then members will remain logged in when I switch over (by renaming \forumnew to \forum).

If they are uskng the auto login cookie then by having the same cookie prefix they would not need to login again.
