im gonna soon start working on a database of countries and their cities.. im consulting a local MAP Publishing company called FARSI MAPS for that..the major objectives of this database is that they contain a list of all cities for each country around the world..as well as distance information also.. one can easily find out a distance betwen 2 different cities of the same country.. or 2 different countries and even 2 different cities of 2 different countries...
and once completed i would offcourse try my best distribute this DB for free anyway..
some basic ideas of using this DB is that providing a facility to select user his/her city aftr he/she has selected his country.. something exactly found on Hotmail signup page.
My future ambition is to work with KACST-ISU and make database for IP address to corresponding city, country, ISP, netblock owner, etc etc etc..i have already made a proposal and submitted it to King KFUIT..and if i am eager to win their support.. they would let me work in the KACST reseach centers free of cost just like a student.. hehe..
whatver im trying to do is not something really new.. database like that r already available but they cost TONS of $$.. where as i would try my best to keep my databass free of cost..
