have database in sql that has approximately 3,000 records
need records taken out of old database and put in new database

I have no idea what would be a fair price for this type of work.  I also don't have any more detail on the database it's going into (except it is ACCESS based).

I've been quoted $15,000 and $10,000 for the project.

u mean u wan to key in the records from ur old database into another new database? if yes, u may try to e-mail ur database to me: thaimin@gmail.com  i would like to do it for u with just $2000 and in 2 weeks.

however, if u juz wan to take out all the 3000 records from ur old database, u can do it urself. u just need to copy a backup of it. then, delete all the records in ur old database. now, u'll get a brand new database again.

You don't need to key in any records, Jezz 3000 of them? This process can easily be automated, either export and import, or with a script that will load all records from old DB, serialize them, then start inserting into new database.
