I've upgraded to 7.01 and cannot make the email notification work. I'm using ASPMail. I've added some lines:

'Validation
.Username = "myUser"
.Password = "myPassword"

in the SendMail function of the functions_send_mail.asp. This is because my SMTP server requires validation, and you have to provide a valid user and password or the emails won't be sent.

Anyway, I cannot make it work. The emails just don't get anywhere. I receive no message at all. What might be going wrong?

Your email server might be messing up or isnt installed curretly. Trying changing it to CDONTS or CDOSYS.

It's installed correctly since I get emails from the pages I made (download notifications and comments). Somehow, the forums are not sending any.

Actually, some of the moderators are receiving the email and mine(moderator's user and admin) are not. Is there any configuration I'm missing? Or is it a problem with my email address?

Contact your web hosts, they may have setup their smtp server to only send to certain email domains.

I think it should not be the problem since I'm using this SMTP server with ASPMail (within some of my pages) and I get those emails.

I'm having a similar problem, it won't send me any post notifications or even reply notifications to my email address. However, I do get mail from the server from other forms etc.

I think Borg might be right though, although since I host my own email server, I am guessing I have to look at permissions? Any ideas as to where to look?

Although now that I think about it... I changed my email to a different one and it still wouldn't send me any administrative ( newest forum posts, or so and so has responded to your post emails ) I don't get it.
