When performing the installation of 10Bet, appeared the following message:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error initialising Global Variables from database.
Please contact the Forum Administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_mySQL_getForumConfigurationData()_read_global_variables
File Name:- global_variables_inc.asp
Forum Version:- 10 Beta 1

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.0.45-community-nt]Table 'vida.tblsetupoptions' doesn't exist

It looks like your database was not correctly setup.

Was this an upgrade or a new install?

Did you get any error messages during the database creation?

Hi Bruce, I'm using version 9.72 and I upgraded to version 10beta, below the steps followed.

You need to select upgrade from version 9.x rather than upgrade from version 10.x.

An upgrade from version 10.x would not make any changes to the database hence the error. You would need to select upgrade from version 9.x to add the additional tables.

Also Web Wiz Forums version 10.x beta 2 is now released this has some improvements to the database upgrade tools.

When I make a new intallation and press the test button I get this message: The Database Connection was Successful

When I press the next button, I'll come back to setup.asp, do I make a mistake.

This is very different to the error that the topic starter is referring to and is most probably a permissions error with the 'database' directory.
