Bruce -

Thanks again for the reply.

1.) I had seen that short list of unsupported hosting companies, but based on the content I thought that 1&1 would not work only for the Premium edition of WW Forum (which is why I hadn't brought up 1&1 earlier... sorry).

From that page you referenced:
1&1
Do not support the Premium Edition of Web Wiz NewsPad.

I can say that we have had the free edition up and running for years (8.03) with no major issues on 1&1... So not sure if this is the end of the road or not. Confirmation from you would be helpful.

2.) Thanks for the info on how we would potentially migrate to one of your servers. If you can throw me a link (if one exists) that walks me through the process I can start to consider that if it turns out all of the WW forums cannot be run on 1and1 hosts.

Thanks!!!

I think you are looking at the wrong page as it is web wiz forums you are using not web wiz newspad.

1&1 are probably the worse web host you could find, a quick search on the web will show this. If you want a very basic website then they should be fine but for anything else best of keeping away.

I also read a white paper by them on how they are being green and it said in it that they have up to 10,000 websites per server! That is an incredible amount and probably the reason why they are so cheap and only host smaller more basic websites.

If you wanted to migrate your forum to our services then you just need to signup through the pages below, you would then be contacted to discuss a migration plan that would be custom to your specific needs:-

Hi jcnassoc

I'd recommend that you do consider swapping hosts - for me personally and I know others too, it was the best decision they made changing over to Web Wiz.
1&1 did me no favours and I guess that most people start with them because they do have a fair share of the market. However, that does not make them better!
Have a chat with Bruce via Support.

I know for sure that if you plan on running Premium edition it will work out better for you to shift hosting anyway
