When a reference to our forum appears in say Facebook, the forum name appears with this description:-
 
This is a forum powered by Web Wiz Forums. To find out about Web Wiz Forums, go to http://www.WebWizForums.com - www.WebWizForums.com
 
Now I have no objection to a mention of WebWiz, but it would be nice if the purpose of the forum could also appear there, is there any way to do this?
 
I have altered all the fields in the SEO section of the control panel, but this has not changed anything.

Changing the value in the SEO page in the admin area will update the meta description header in your forum pages.

It maybe that Facebook have cached this before you made the changes and it is getting the description from cache.
