Hi,
I haven't been able to figure out how to get the Web Wiz Forums script to send emails notifying members of replies to their thread? Could someone please explain?

As far as I see, the help doesn't mention anything about enabling email notification for replies. But I did find the feature in the administration but am still meeting a problem - its configured for CDONTS but no notifications are being sent.

I recently updated the forum code to 7.7 which I think is supposed to fix the CDONTS problem which there was with earlier versions, or am I mistaken? In any case, I just tested the system but it still doesn't appear to be working. :-/

What CDONTS problem?
The way that emails have been sent witrh CDONTS has not been changed
for many versions and no-one has reported any problems with it and is
the most popular component when sending mail using the forum.

For some reason I was under the impression that this thread ( http://forums.webwiz.net/forum_posts.asp?TID=8668&a mp;a mp;KW=activation+email&PN=0&TPN=4 ) was discussing a CDONTS problem. My problem is that no notification emails are being sent. It sends emails using the Mass Email setting (at least I believe it does) but the Email Notification for replies doesn't work. That is a bug report for version 7.7 which is the latest version with a
fix for the problem, this only effects version 7.7 and not older
versions.
It also only effects email components other than CDONTS.
It only effects the email components that require an SMTP server to be
specified, as CDONTS doesn't require an SMTP server to be specified
this problem doesn't effect CDNOTS.
