I've downloaded the file several times from each mirror from different computers - so I'm can't help but think this isn't a "corrupted file" error.  But I get this everytime I try to run this forum at: www.caballobelts.com/forum

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01f4'

Variable is undefined: 'strDatabaseType'

/forum/Default.asp, line 122

What obvious thing am I missing?

Shannon

This variable is decalred in the file common.asp

Make sure that the common.asp file is from the latest version and also try reuploading this file to make sure it is not corrupted.

I re-uploaded the common.asp file (again )  and still get the same error.

I viewed the common.asp file and don't see any obvious corruption; if you'd like to look at it: http://www.caballobelts.com/common.txt

The variable is declared in teh file with the following line in the file common.asp:-

Dim strDatabaseType 'Holds the type of database used

So I don't see why you would get the error.

The only thing I can sugest is reupload all files again.

I am totally new to this and need help in a big way! I am getting the same error Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01f4' . I know that I am not typing the information in the right way.

strCon = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Server=" & strSQLServerName & ";User ID=" & strSQLDBUserName & ";Password=" & strSQLDBPassword & ";Database=" & strSQLDBName & ";"
Could someone please give me a demo on how to type my server. user name etc. in correctly??

The details of your MS SQL server are placed at the nearer the top of the file.

Please read the instructions in the documentation and read the comments in the file to findout where to place your MS SQL Server details.
