I'm testing the new version of RTE in a site to create the script archive.

I usually create the code with particular formatting rules, such as tabulations, new lines and spaces, to help code reading.

BTW, when I insert the code into the RTE (using the HTML view) switching to Normal mode it removes all formatting rules writing all code without any new line or tabulation.

Is there a way (if you have no time to do that but you know there's a way please just let me know some info to mod it ) to kept formatting rules into the RTE?

The RTE uses the built in RTE features of the web browser. It is this that will alter your code.

Different browsers have implemented RTE features differently, and I know IE is bad and changing the source code.

If your are using IE, try the same with Mozilla Firebird, if you are using Mozilla try using IE.

I'm using Firefox since it was firebird.
I know you use Firefox too. Does you are able to keep the formatting rules with it?

I will test it with a different browser.

The browsers use there own rules for RTE's, the only way to know exactly how and in what way they change things would probably mean doing a bit of research on the browsers web sites into how there built in RTE features work.

I will ask some information on italian or international mozilla forums and I'll do some searches.

The last question.
In particular, what have I to search? I think something about how the browser read and execute Javascript commands. Isn't it?

Sorry about the question, but I'm not really informed with javascript scripting language or, better, I really hate it.

In this case javascript has very little if nothing to do with this, the javascript is only used to fire events like telling the built in RTE features to start using bold, etc.

The RTE features in Mozilla use their Midas API.

What you do is tell a web page to enable design mode to make that web page editable, this then uses the Midas API to make the page editable.

It is this Midas API (part of the Mozilla browser) that does the formatting etc. when the page is in design mode.

I would start by looking into and asking questions about the Mozilla Midas API.
