Right, greetings to all!

I changed a username this morning and now it's playing up on my. Bascially the new username starts with a C but when the member list is arranged in alphabetical order it comes on top, and when i run a search for the username it cannot be found even though it appears on the memberlist.

I've tried putting a space in front of the username when searching but that has not helped. So i can see it but cannot make changes to it.

Anyone experienced this before?

TIA

Bims

I downloaded the db and the username field for that person appeared blank.

I typed in the new username and uploaded the database. Now it's showing the username twice eg "username username".

If i search for 'use' for eg it brings up "username username" which i select from the dropdown box and it changes back to "username" Then it tells me that it cannot find any such user.
???

Sounds like a corrupted database which is common with Acess.

Hopefully you can save it using the compact and repair tool in Acess, better still use SQL Server

Hmm, ok I'll try the compact and repair. Regarding SQL, i do have access to SQL server as part of my hosting but i'm not quite sure how it works...plus i'm using three of your applications (news, guestbook and forum) and ideally i'd like all apps to be SQLed. I'm not  sure how this would work... 1 SQL database hold many databases apps? sorry - i've never worked with SQL before Confused

Are there straightforward tutorials regarding migration? I saw a thread that on this form where someone attempted to draw up the steps but it seems a few people where having errors.
