Topic: W2003 critical update Posted: 02 April 2005 at 12:19pm |
I logged onto a dedicated server I have and ran the windows update. (It's a Saturday routine for me) and low and behold there was a critical update to be installed. It was 329.3 MEG! Fortunately, using remote desk top on the farm it downloaded very quickly but WOW, that's a file.
Anyway, just thought I would share that there is an update to be had.

Indeed. It was released at the same time as XP x64
Is there a quick install that only downloads the nessescary files or is that only for the client OS'

Actually, I used the wizard from a fully updated server and it force the download of 329 mg instead of 337 mg. The server is only running IIS with 10 IP's and one website. No multimedia or nothin' so I would have to guess this is the basic download.
But I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.

I installed it one just one server yet which is not a critical system and had not any issues whatsoever. One reboot and I was all set. Windows Firewall did not even start by default for me.

I installed it yesterday and as of now haven't found anything wrong yet
either. All my websites, mail server, and apps seem to be running
fine. Thanks for the input.
