Question:  Can I open the footer.asp file in DreamWeaver, paste the code for a Google Ad in the footer.asp, save it - then publish it in Frontpage?  Will this give me the Google Ad at the bottom of my forum?  This is my goal.

Any help in the right direction would be great, thanks.

should be fine. Why are you using Frontpage and dream weaver though. Just use Dreamweaver. It has built in FTP as well.

Yup. You may want to do it in code view though. Sometimes with the WYSIWYG editors, It's hard to get positioning right - particularly as footer.asp just contains code a fragment

I'd put it id a div or table right after the </table> tag and before the </body> tag.

Edit: BTW, If you're using FP for bots, site management, or publishing, you can specify what you want to use as an editor for particular file extensions. I's imagine you could specify DW as the FP editor for asp or htm/html extensions, but seems a little silly.

Personally, I dislike both of them but use FP more than DW primarily for the site management and publishing controls. I have FP set up to use it with different editors for php and css files. FP is ok for html if you use a strict doctype and stay away from the bots.
VS is still the best thing to use for .net though.
