    Posted: 04 April 2003 at 9:14am

Within two days of setting up a forum using the Web Wiz Forum, I had somebody break the security and they did two things. 1: They made everyone who is a registered user of the forum a moderator. 2: They made a offensive posting using my signature, to one of the topics on the forum. Is the security this bad on the Web Wiz forum? The first thing I did when I set up the forum was to change the user name and password of the Administrator.

How do I change the Moderators back to standard users ? If I go into the membership admin section, I can only make members guest, standard, Silver, gold and platinum members

How do I improve the security ?

Read the documentation that came with the forum and do a search on this forum. It has been discussed very often. The security is only as bas as the forum has been implemented, so if you leave it accessible to everyone in the www it is not secure.

The forum is very secure, obviously not 100%, as anything in any computer anywhere.

IF you follow the documentation.

and another tip, your admin password should not be easy to figure.

Since you implied that the security was so bad, then you need to check the short circuit between the chair and keyboard first. Then see if your ID-10T was stuck or something.

As a last resort why not read the documentation and follow directions?
