First I would like to say thanks, I have tried many other "free" asp apps out there and am kicking myself for not finding Web Wiz sooner...

Now the question...

I am having a hard time getting FP to work with access on GoDaddy. I can get SQL to work no problem. I have told it is a file permission problem with FP but I have no idea how to change it. I was told the FP will do it automaticly...if there is one thing I have learned about Microsoft it is that NOTHING is done automaticly AND right...

How hard would it be to make some of these access only apps work with sql, preferably the db I already have up?

Thanks in advance for all your assistance.

Kip

MS SQL can import an access db. You might have to tweak a couple of column settings but it's prety straight forward.

For WWF, there's a couple of how-to threads that go into the import in some detail.

Haven't heard too much about godaddy hosting that's good. Do make sure you're on a windows plan and not a linux plan though. Linux can support FP, but not MS Access.

Godaddy requires you to have your access dbs in a specific directory and you have to authorize the service in your control panel.

Does anyone know much about to import from access to sql in godaddy, they don't use the enterprise mangler.

You are not going to be able to use GO Daddy with Access if the app requires modify access on the folder, i.e. if the user will submit ANY data. I was told this is for security reasons.

This is wrong.  I am using Access with Godaddy right now.  You have to enable the service in your hosting control panel and then the dbs must be hosted in the access_db directory.

The OP was over 3 months ago. He's either settled in by now or long gone from godaddy.
