Can I use a DSN-less connection if the DB I want to connect to resides on a different server than my web page?  My web page resides on a server called Web1.  The DB I want to connect to is on a server called Apps1.

SQL: yes
Access: never seen it done, there are connection string for remote access db, but i have never seen a working example

I guess it probably complicates matters even more if I tell you my db is actually Excel, huh?

well, while excel and access are almost one in the same...

theres no way you'll be able to do like you suggested...

Remote connection to Access, but i as said above, never seen it successfully pulled off (and there have been a lot of threads about this on lots of boards over the years)

maybe if you have some way of transfering the doc from the remote server to your web server, then you could just hook in with this connection
