Any progress is in the version 8 development blog.

But I still hope to have a beta version ready in the beginging of January for people to test the new forum engine for bugs.

While the beta version is being tested I then plan to add extra fetaures to version 8 and fix any bugs found in the new forum engine.

While the beta version is being tested I plan on running a competition for people to come up with new skins based on the new CSS approch to skins, so that in the final release of version 8 it can come with a number of different skins already included in the software.
