Whats the secret to promoting a forum site? How do you drive traffic to your site?

Search engines like to deliver content. Post some keyword-rich articles on your site - or as sticky's within each forum.

Travel is a tough SE category to get ranked in - only about a gazillion other travel sites out there - get region/country/town/activity specific in your articles - e.g. hiking in eastern Tanzania, Swimming in Nairobi, Nightclubbing in Kenya, Senior Citizen Discounts for dining in Cairo, etc.

Get sites with high pageranks and similar content to linkk to you. Avoid link farms and links from sites that don't have similar keywords.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

i see allot sites w strange content the called Xenax - buy - xanax - xanax valium - buy xanax online all the sites got great search ingine position!?
why i cant make my home page w the great position?
