Hi.
 
I use 8 RC1. I formed new categories and batch moved topics in my forum and then it began to fail with user rights. 
 
- Guests enter forums where they have no access rights and shown with forum_no_entry_icon.gif.
- My moderators compain that they have no rights even though I authorized them with almost any right in the admin section.  
- When I try to assign password to a certain forum I get the error: 

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01f4'

Variable is undefined: 'strUserCode'

/admin_forum_details.asp, line 68

I tried Re-sync Topic and Post Count and Compact Repair but they didn't work. Please some one help.

If you have upgraded from a previous version you may need to delete all entries in the tblPermissions table and then re-create permissions in the admin for them to work correctly.

The other problem you mention is listed as a known bug when setting passwords and is being looked into.

Hi again Borg.
I did exactly what you said. I downloaded the mdb, deleted all entries (not the colums of course) in the permission table and uploaded it. Now the Guest problem was solved. They can't enter forums, but this time my Moderators gain no right event though I grant them with certain rights in the admin section. All groups seem as if they had the same rights.
 
I haven't tried the RC 1.1 yet but I will convey the result as soon as will shift to that. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

It sounds like the permission system is not upgrading correctly.

A new version of the upgrade tool has been released that does the permissions in a different way, so maybe worth trying the upgrade again.
