How can I pull things out of a database in alphabetic order not the order in which it was added?

select from where orderby

that should be your mantra.

SELECT *
FROM tbl_names
WHERE Fname like 'Chris'
ORDER BY Lname

it's the "order by" that determines it.

I can't seem to get that to work is this right?

SQL = "SELECT tblMP3.Artist, tblMP3.Track, tblMP3.Genre, tblMP3.Comments, tblMP3.URL, tblMP3.autonum FROM tblMP3 ORDER BY Lname;"

 you would wann do something like ORDER BY tblmp3.Artist or whom ever you wanna sort by
