first off, b0rg, you're the man! =)

I have been running your forum code for about 4 years now, and love it even more with every release. I am currently in the process of migrating a heavily modified v7.x access db and code to the new v8.1.1. sql. Yes, i know this is a crazy task, but it's worth it =)

My main question is:

Is there any code difference between the access version of 8.1.1 and SQL 8.1.1? I know the database connection file has the one comment difference to select sql over access, but other than that, is there any reason I can't just modify my database connections file of an access version when I convert it to SQL?

Thanks!

The code base is the same, the only difference, like you say is the selection of the database type and connection string in the database connection file.

To keep things simple all other changes are done within the forum engine by detecting what database type you are using then dynamically creating the appropriate SQL query.
