Hi,

I have a problem when you are writing a post or a reply or anything of the sort and you put a "£" pound sign in the text when the post is displayed it misses out the £ sign, it disapears completley.

Does anybody know why?

Regards
Joel

I can see the £ perfectly well in your post, so I guess this is just effecting your forum?

If that is the case it could be that you have incorrectly changed the page encoding to one that doesn't support the £ sign.

As the £ GPB is my own native currency here in the UK I certainly wouldn't want to develop a forum it doesn't work in.

You would need to manually edit a file which is not easy to change the encoding so I doubt you have done this.

It could also be your browser which is effecting this, try using a different browser.

It could also be the locale settings on the server itself which is effecting this if they haven't been set correctly.

I've fixed it now i changed the 'browser_page_encoding_inc.asp'

From:
'Western European ISO
'Const strPageEncoding = "iso-8859-1"

To
'Unicode UTF-8
Const strPageEncoding = "utf-8"
and it works fine now
