Question about intMaxResults variable

I'm curious about declaring the intMaxResults value and hope someone can help me a bit here.

I use the default intMaxResults value of 500 for all my (sub)forums. However, we do have one subforum that i would like to increase this limit, but since i don't want to compromise the whole forum performance i wonder what's the best way of doing it.

Since intMaxResults is constant i can't use something like

If intForumID=X then
intMaxResults=xxx
Else
intMaxResults=xx
End if.

But if i change

Cont intMaxResults=500
to something like

Dim intMaxResults
intMaxResults= 500 i can use If statement which does work. Now the question is; can i change "Const" declaration to dim intMaxResults without causing any problem?
