I have the following error message on my forum:
 
Please can you explain the nature of the error and how i can fix the issue. Many Thanks
 
Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while connecting to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_mySQL_db_connection
File Name:- common.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Too many connections

heh.. MySQL database doesn't like too many connections, and it could mean a few things. You should search google on your error message with "[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Too many connections", but it could mean that, well, you have too many connections / queries to your database. It could mean you haven't closed all your connections properly. Your webhosts might have made a tiny footprint for connections, so you may have to limit / handle your connection wisely..

However, if you're running just WWF on your site, and nothing else (no asp pages hosted at your site connecting to the same database), then yeh, that's a bit of a dilemma..

You shouldn't have issues like this with Web Wiz Forums.

We have mySQL versions of Web Wiz Forums running on our servers which have between 60 and 200 active users at all times and receive 100's of posts each day.

If you are not running anything else on your site then I suspect your host has restricted the amount of connections you can have.
