8x to 9x question

Two questions...
 
1. If I go from 8x to 9x how do I update w/o losing my custom colors and small mods...
 
2. If I get the license for the full version is it tied to a domain? The reason I ask is that I would like to 'try' to start a forum and don't know if it will take off - if it does not then it would be nice to change the forums focus and try again by changing to an new domain name and forum topic... does that make sense? Can I get the lic changed to another domain if needed?

1) As you probably know, when you modify package software it causes work when you update the package. The CSS for V9 has changed (has new entries and other modifications) so you'll have to copy one of the new ones provided and modify it to be like your V8 CSS file. And you'll have to make your program mods again to the new code (and indeed any time the modded pages are changed in future versions).
