Hello
I'm taking over a Web Wiz Forum and are woundering if all WWForums go Access databasees? (So I know what to look for when geting someone to host the forum)
The forum is not on the net right not, I only got access to it through ftp
How do I find out if it is Access database or not if it can be both?

It could be any of the three, Access, MS SQL, MySQL.
Locate the database/database_connection.asp file and get the details.

The simplest way is that if you find a wwForum.mdb file then this is the Access database, so would suggest that you are more than likely using the Access version.

it is also advisiable to look/follow the instructions on protecting your forum from hacks by placing the database outside the website root.

if you search the forum there is many threads and within the KB there are details on this.

I found the file You menciond -boRg-
So I gues that would mean that the forum use Access and I could go on and order from a web host that offers Access on a Microsoft server, correct?

dj air:
I gues the way it was earlyer was not an ideal placement of the forum then? or?
I searched "database outside the website root" on the forum but found nothing, you got some pointers for me?

And is it possibble for me to change this when the I want to continiue the old forum?

And then another question, how do I find out wich of these folders and files I need to copy to the new web site to get the forum up and running? (and where to place them?)

I believe WebWiz offer a cheap hosting solution with setup. This may help you a great deal more than you think.
