 Topic: Request: "We Miss You" Mod

Hello everyone;
Would someone be able to create a mod that admins can use to send emails to members who have not logged in to the forum for a specific period of time? The purpose of the email is to tell the member: We Miss You. It's been a while since we last saw you on our forum, etc...
The mod needs to check for the member's account status, only Active non-suspended accounts will be involved. The mod should allow for the selection of time period such as: Send a Miss You message to members who have not logged in since 3 months... or 6 months, etc...

I am working on this mod. This mod is under development which counts and displays how many members we are 'missing' as well as it will display how many have visited and when. I would love to hear anymore suggestions and ideas at here.

I PMed boRg asking for permission for creating a new admin page from
where Administrators can send emails to members that didn't visit the
forum for a while. He replied, ppl would need to buy licensed webwiz
newspad in order to mass email members.
So the admin page gets stopped and so the feature.

Hello StarDust,
This is the first time I hear that you have to PM Borg to get a Mod done!! Whoever has a premium license will use the Mod, like the rest of the mods here!! Borg did not mean to stop you from creating the Mod, he only stated that licensed user are the only people authorized to use Mod's which is not something new!
I myself have a premium license for both, Newspad and Forums.

I understand your eagerness and so others and mine, but i do not want to be in any license issue nor do i want to be some one who disrespect the development of WWF. To tell you frankly, this site gave me a lot more than some ppl can think. I knew from the previous versions of WWF, creating/modifying admin are IS a license violation. So I asked him if it would be a problem. I am not blaming the developers of WWF. We should understand there is a different application to mass email WWF members which can be purchased and licensed to avail the same purpose. I'll be looking forward to find out a way though

This mod should really be for Web Wiz NewsPad rather than for Web Wiz Forums, as NewsPad is the mass email module for Web Wiz Forums.
NewsPad is also designed for sending mass emails and includes batch sending to take the strain off the SMTP server, and can also rember where it left off if the browser or server were to crash halfway through.
It should be fairly simple to modify NewsPad to tell it to send an eNewletter to those members who's last visit was before a particular date, and this may well be built into future releases of NewsPad.

I will prefer having this feature built in with WWF as the earlier versions had a batch email members script. Will you consider this? Please?

The batch send email was removed as it did work in many cases, and often overloaded mail servers, or simply crashed the web server, as Web Wiz Forums isn't designed to send out bulk email on this scale.
This is where NewsPad comes in as this is the bulk email module for Web Wiz Forums.
