Topic: Multiple emails being sent via "!report" button Posted: 18 December 2007 at 2:59pm |

Whenever a user clicks on the "!report" button to report a post, the admins of the forum get two identical emails sent to them. Is this a bug in version 8.05a of the forum software? Or is this simply a matter of tweaking a setting int the forum control panel? If so, what adjustment do I make? Oh, and we're using the CDONTS method of emailing. Could that be the problem?

The report post button sends an email to the forums email address in the admin area and one to each of the forum admins, and to the moderators of that forum.
If have the same email address for your forum admin account as the email address set for the forum in the admin area then you may well get an email twice to this email address.

We've got four people in the Admin group and two people in the Moderator group. The four of us in the Admin group get two emails when somebody reports a post, but those in the Moderator group get only one email when someone reports a post.

It could be that you have set the people in your admin group to also have moderator permissions on the forum.
This is not necessary for people in the admin group as they have full moderator rights anyway, and may also explain why they get to emails, as it first sends to the admin email addresses then looks for those with moderator permissions on that forum and send an email to them.
