version 8 and 9 on the same server?

Hi, I currently have a single site license for WWF 8.0X. I would like to upgrade to a multiple site license for WWF 9.0X.
 
Can I use the multiple site license license key for both version 8 & 9 on the same server?
 
I want to setup two forums with two different URLs.
 
 
The reason why is because I already have an existing live site running with WWF 8.0x and now I want to develop another site using WWF 9.0x
