Hello Guys,

I had a directory deleted that contained the web wiz forum... I still have all the post and everything in SQL server. Is there a way to re-install webwiz where all the post, forums, etc... will re-appear...

I know that it reads everthing from SQL.... but want to know if there are steps to get everything restored!

Thanks guys!

It would depend on which forum version you were running as to how you would do this. You are right that all the posts, members etc will be held in the database, so if it was example, 9.54 version, you could in theory re-upload that software, (not forgetting to add in your database connection details) onto database_connection.asp file and it should just pick up the database as if nothing had happened

MrTWS is quite right, but to add to what he has said, if the database is a 9.x database then you can just simply upload the latest version and update the database/database_connection.asp file with your database connection details.

If you are using a 7.x or 8.x database then this would be the same except you would need to first run the database upgrade tool available in the web wiz forums download, to upgrade the database to a 9.x database.
