Is it possible to give individual members the right to Upload pictures ? I seem to remember that you could using V8. something but I can only find a way to give entire groups permissions, which I'd rather not do. I am using 9.54 Cheers,

You are correct that only groups can only have permissions set. Why not create a new user group and then place the members that you want to allow to upload pictures into that newly created group

Doug,
Does V 9.XX not allow you to change permissions through the Admin back end, at Member Level, which traditionally over wrote Group Level then?
I'm a V 8 user and if I can't grant this individual permission at member level, it's gonna be a big no go for an update for me.
Many thanks,
Shaun

The upload system was re-written for version 9 and is no-longer attached to forums as users have new upload tools such as the File Manager system to managing their uploaded files.
This is in preparation to extend the upload system further to allow Galleries etc.
As members can now upload and manage images and files outside of forums the permissions for who is allowed to upload files and images is now at Group level rather than at forum level.

I appreciate Shaun that this may be an issue, as yes it would take a bit of time organising members into a specific group that allows image uploads, however, I would say that this re-organisation is preferable than running a version that will have security vulnerabilities and perhaps be subject to hackers. We know that often searches are performed on Google with keyword criteria aimed at web wiz forums+version numbers+areas etc, so without wanting to sound paranoid, an upgrade to a more secure version would be protecting your forum and its membership
