Hi Bruce,
On the forum we had before, when we deleted a post, the value in the database was chanched from "deteled=false" to "deleted=true", this future would be nice to have in the future, because if we delete a post now it's gone in the database, we have had some issues where we have had a need to track back and see what happened. And also if we give moderators rights to delete ( now they can only set them for aproval ) and they are having a very bad they, we can undo that kind of damage.
Maybe something to have in the futere.

That's why it would always be wise to know who you can entrust as a moderator mirzam I'm not sure how easy this would be to implement, but you could always run a backup of your database daily to avoid any such issues arising, or depending on your host, they perhaps already do this

This would be a fair bit of work if you was to do it your self, I've looked into it in the past for my self.
Though if you dont check up and delete the deleted posts, your database will soon inflate un-necessarily.
Though what happens if you delete a deleted post that you want to keep?
I agree with TWS on the only set mods who can be trusted rather than any tom dick or harry.

i had one mod "blowing up" one day.... and once i by mistake deleted a thread, so that is the background for it. Does anybody have written a good asp script that can save all the data in a sql server to a file or a access database or something for backup ?

Unfortunately my crystal ball is a bit dusty today so I can't predict the future. The only thing I can say is that it is 90% complete and will be released when it is ready.

I think WW-forum needs two essential-components, Thanks Mod and Editing post for limited time. other open source forums often have various tools that WW should be completed by them. I prefer ASP to PHP forum and check this site for new release of WW every day!
