Hello, i'm totally confused on how to get a login working. Here is my senerio

I have our forum in "dirico/forum

and the main site is in "dirico"

I have a blog in the main site and wanted to have a user login to post a comment.
I was trying to get it to go to the forum login, log them in, then redirect to the blog_detail page in the main site. (I would need the detail page to check if they are logged in as well)

Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

thanks in advance!

I'm using the newest version of WWF (9.6)

you may want to look at this page bruce pointed me to ... if your blog also runs using classic ASP you can probably use the session variables from WWF directly

If your blog is build in Classic ASP and you want to run off the Forums member list, you could always integrate your Blog with the forum.

I have a tutorial on how to make Member-Only Pages which could help.

By including the 'common.asp' file you can get the current Users ID, Username and Group ID. You would then only need to have a field on your blog comments to hold the Users ID.

Values:
User ID = lngLoggedInUserID
Username = strLoggedInUsername
Group ID = intGroupID
Active = blnActiveMember
Email = strLoggedInUserEmail
Banned = blnBanned

Default User IDs:
1 = Administrator
2 = Guest

Groups IDs:
1 = Administrator
2 = Guest

I made closed a forum so it couldn't be read by anyone that wasn't signed in, now I would like to open it up for all, but I can't remember how to undo it - and i am beginning to think I am nuts, I really can't figure out how I did it in the first place!
