Hi,

I have a forum running WWF 9.56a. I have notised that the Meta-data for the page is the following.

<meta name="description" content="This is a discussion forum powered by Web Wiz Forums. To find out about Web Wiz Forums, go to http://www.webwizforums.com" /> 
<meta name="keywords" content="forum, bbs, discussion, bulletin board, message board" /> 

Is it ok to change that?

In the Default.asp file, where the Metadata is made, i find this line of text

'***** START WARNING - REMOVAL OR MODIFICATION OF THIS CODE WILL VIOLATE THE LICENSE AGREEMENT ******

Does that only apply to the free version? I have a payed licens. Is it ok for me to change the meta?

No you can not change it, it would only be removed automatically with the Brand-Free license.

So you cant search-engine optimize your payed forum?

If you need to remove the branding then you would need to purchase a brand-free license.

The standard Premium Edition has SEO in the form of dynamic meta tags for forums and topics for both keywords and descriptions. There is also if your server supports it a URL Rewrite Tool that will dynamically rewrite URL's to contain forum and topic names, which greatly improves search engine ranking.
