I very mush doubt it would work as Web Wiz Forums uses a number of techniques to prevent automated programs signing up to your forum.
However there are lots of tools built into Web Wiz Forums that will prevent spam, the extent of how you use them is up to you:-
- Enable email activation of new accounts (very effective at preventing most spam and is very simple and not to obstructive)
- Make sure that you have the CAPTCHA security images enabled
- Don't let Guests posts
- Make sure that the Anti-spam Flood Control is enabled and set at reasonable levels to prevent multiple spam entries
- Use the 'Post Approval' permission on the starting group for forums. This then means that new members have to have their posts approved by an admin or moderator before they are displayed in your forum.
- Admin activation of new accounts. This may be a bit far but means you can checkout all new accounts before you activate them
By using a combination of the above you should be able to greatly reduce and stop spam in your forum.
