    Posted: 12 October 2009 at 8:21pm

Hi all

I'm new to RTE and want to integrate it into a back-end system to give a little more control of entering data into a database.

Of course, I'm just playing around at the moment, getting to grips with the program.

I'm getting an error:

error '8002801d'
/CLTNew/RTE_configuration/RTE_setup.asp, line 39

The line in question is:

If Request.QueryString("about") Then Call rteInfo()

IE8 did report this (on one occasion only) as a type mismatch.

What have I done wrong?

Regards

Martin

It looks like you are not integrating it correctly and have missed out some of the include files.

Go back to the install instructions for the RTE and start again follow them closely step by step.

OK.

Reinstalled RTE but I'm still getting the same error.

This is very odd as to why you get this error and can only think it must be something to do with the server setup.

What OS are you using on the server?
Is VbScript setup as the default language for ASP pages?

Also you should look at the system requirements pages and make sure the server meets the requirements for the software:-

I've just found it's not just RTE I'm having a problem with. I'm getting the error on all of my local sites.

I'm going to uninstall IIS and re-install it and see what happens.

Just for the record, I'm using MS Vista with, according to my system, SP2. I use both Mozilla Firefox 3.5 and IE8. I create pages using Dreamweaver CS4 and I have ASP installed with VB as the default language.

I'll let you know the outcome of my re-install.

The VbScript Engine is part of Internet Explorer. You may also find that as well as reinstalling IIS to fix the issue that reinstalling or installing a newer version IE may help as well.

Problem solved.

I did a reinstall of IIS and all works fine.

Now I can get on with what I wanted to do.

Many thanks for the help.
