Upgrading from 9.1 Beta to 10 not Working

I really need help. I've trying to upgrade (ACCESS) from the 9.1 to 10.0 and it won't let me. When I try to upgrade after i put the database file name and access folder and I test the database it says connected successfully. When I hit next it goes straight back to setup.asp folder. Nothing happens and it just loops.


1) I deleted all the system files from the old 9.x except the database and uploads.

2) I renamed the old database to database2 and uploaded all the new files from 10.x including the database. (IS THIS CORRECT) i tried to use the old database first without even uploading the new database but I got an error message.


please help me. I'm interested in purchasing 10.x but I don't want too until I verify I can upgrade got YEARS and 1000's of members.

I deleted all the system files again to verify there wasn't curroption and I edited the database\database_settings.asp -

took the " ' " off strDatabaseType = "Access"
and 
pointed the database too my old database.

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while executing SQL query on database. strDbTable:tbl
Please contact the Forum Administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_Access_get_forum_data
File Name:- default.asp
Forum Version:- 10.03

It sounds like a permissions issue. Make sure you have read, write, and modify permissions set on the forums 'database' folder so that the install wizard can write to the configuration files in this folder.

This is in step 5 of the upgrade instructions below:-
